Ramsond's Da Vinci™ series of wind turbines were conceived with inspiration from newly discovered renderings of Leonardo Da Vinci. As an engineer, Leonardo conceived ideas far ahead of his own time, conceptualizing a helicopter, a tank, a calculator, the double hull ship, and outlining a rudimentary theory of plate tectonics. As Ramsond engineers were searching the archives of ancient literature relating to power generation, they came across mysterious and rare drawings of Leonardo. Among their many intriguing finds, they learned that Da Vinci conceptualized the design of a solar power system, nearly six centuries ago. Da Vinci's drawings also represented his understanding, centuries in advance, of the modern concepts of aerodynamics, centrifugal force and blade rotation, all critical concepts in wind power technology.
